NEW YORK, USA // Robert Stecklow is the General Manager of Sports Products within DIRECTV’s Revenue Group, which is now part of the AT&T Family. In his role he is charged with overseeing the businesses for out-of-market sports subscription products that generate over $1 billion dollars annually. Products include NFL Sunday Ticket, MLB Extra Innings, NBA League Pass, and NHL Center Ice. In addition, Mr. Stecklow oversees DIRECTV’s Pay-Per-View event business for high-profile events from HBO and Showtime Championship Boxing and UFC, and runs the marketing relationship with the PGA TOUR.
Formerly, Mr. Stecklow spent 7 years with the National Football League as a key member of the marketing team, leaving as Vice President of Advertising. He was overseeing national ad campaigns to drive fan engagement across all the league’s business units including NFL Shop, NFL.com, NFL Network, Hispanic marketing, NFL events, NFL brand and cause related initiatives. In his time at the NFL, Robert was the executive behind more than 10 Super Bowl commercials, including the critically acclaimed “Mr. Oboe” ad that featured Houston Texans players Chester Pitts and Ephraim Salaam. The ad was ranked the number one “most liked” ad in Super Bowl XLVII, according to Nielsen Research.
Prior to the NFL, Mr. Stecklow spent five years at ABC Sports in on-air promotion as a writer/producer. He developed promotion campaigns for premiere events including Monday Night Football, The Super Bowl, College Football, The Bowl Championship Series, The PGA Tour, NASCAR, NHL and the Stanley Cup, The Indianapolis 500, World and US Figure Skating, The Triple Crown, and the NBA. He also helped create and launch the award winning ABC Sports “Championship Television” brand campaign during his tenure.
Before his time at ABC Sports, he spent three plus years as an Associate Producer at the Rosie O’Donnell Show, an Emmy Award Winning daytime talk show.
His first foray into television came as a production assistant on Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show”. Mr. Stecklow is a graduate of the University of Florida School of Journalism and Communications.
Mr. Stecklow lives in NJ with his wife Laurie and three boys. He’s an avid sports fan rooting for the Giants, Mets, Knicks, Devils and his Gators.
