MARINA DEL REY, USA // Obsessed with movies while growing up in Plano, Texas, Joe bought a shiny blue Saturn and drove to Los Angeles thirty years ago listening to Madonna cds on his Sony Discman. He got his first job as a temp in marketing and distribution at MGM because he knew how to use WordPerfect and has been working in film marketing ever since. Lucky to have had fantastic mentors throughout his career, he has held positions in publicity, exhibitor marketing, media, creative advertising, and creative content, with his varied experience giving him a unique 360 perspective of film marketing. He currently serves as executive vice president of global marketing at Sony Pictures, and still loves movies as much as he did growing up. Joe has won multiple awards for his work, including several Clios and a Cannes Lion. He’s a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
