JAKARTA, INDONESIA // Marianne is the CEO of Burson Indonesia, a role she has held since founding the agency in 2020. Under her leadership, the agency has experienced significant growth and evolved into a holistic influence advisory, recognized for its integrated communications expertise. Before Burson, Marianne served as CEO of JWT and Wunderman Thompson Indonesia, leading a transformative restructuring focused on creativity, data, technology, and influence. Earlier in her career, she was Chief Growth Officer at Ogilvy Indonesia and Managing Director of both Ogilvy Public Relations and Pulse Communications, also serving as Head of Corporate Communications for the Ogilvy Group in Indonesia. With over 25 years of experience in Indonesia’s communications and marketing industry, Marianne is known for her deep expertise in crisis and issue management, brand strategy, and executive counsel. Her extensive client network spans Indonesia and Southeast Asia, and she continues to play a strategic role in driving thought leadership and C-suite engagement across the Region.

From 2015 to 2017, she led nation branding work for Bank Indonesia and the Ministry of Tourism, winning both local and global recognition. She later served as Lead Advisor to the Ministry’s marketing department (2016–2018), overseeing crisis communications during the Mount Agung eruption. Marianne has been named one of Indonesia’s 100 Most Powerful Women by SWA and twice featured in Campaign Asia’s “Women to Watch” (2017 and 2021), as well as PRovoke Media’s “Innovator 25” for Asia Pacific (2021 and 2024). In 2019, she was awarded “Digital & Social Head of Agency – Gold” by Marketing-Interactive. Currently, Marianne also serves as Burson’s APAC Head of Innovation and Creativity. She established the regional creative hub in Indonesia, which has become a center of excellence producing award-winning content for markets across Asia Pacific. She holds a double major in Arts and Communications from the University of Canberra and regularly lectures at leading Indonesian universities.
