HONG KONG // Terri-Helen Gaynor is the president and CEO of Burson-Marsteller Asia-Pacific, where she is responsible for the region’s 18 offices. She has more than 33 years of experience advising on communication issues and providing strategic counsel to government ministers, boards of directors and CEOs of both Australian and internationally listed and private companies, as well as government agencies.
During her career in Asia and Australia, she has served clients including Bupa, IBM, Jardine Matheson, Kimberly-Clark, Manulife, Nike, Philips and UTC Building & Industrial Systems. Her expertise includes management of crisis and emergency situations, financial communications, reputation management, stakeholder and community engagement, and whole-of-government campaigns.
Prior to joining Burson-Marsteller, Terri-Helen served as managing director and founding partner of Reputation Pty Ltd in Australia. While leading Reputation Pty Ltd, she specialized in corporate communications, government relations and investor relations assignments for a variety of top global brands.
Before founding Reputation Pty Ltd, she spent two years with a leading global firm in Australia as an Account Director on the corporate and investor relations team, specializing in M&As and IPOs. Terri-Helen also advised the firm’s financial services team in Greater China. Prior to that, she was an Executive Director with Forrest International, developing and implementing internal and external communications programs for clients in China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines and Taiwan. She also spent 10 years with the Australian government advising a number of departments, including the departments of Education, Health, Finance, Human Services and Sport.
In 2013, she was named in the top 125 of Encore’s Top 200 most powerful people in Australia’s media, marketing and entertainment industry for her role as National President of the Public Relations Institute of Australia.
Terri-Helen graduated from the University of Canberra with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Public Relations and Public Policy.
