This year, Clio Entertainment introduces Broadcast TV as a distinct Industry Type, further clarifying how work is categorized across platforms and distribution models.
These updates are designed to better reflect the evolving entertainment landscape and to celebrate distinct marketing approaches across platforms, while ensuring work is judged within the most relevant competitive set.
To support this, we’ve refined Industry Type definitions to improve clarity and consistency when entering work.
Broadcast TV (New)
All linear television programming, including syndicated programs, news, live broadcasts (including sports), lifestyle series, episodic series, limited series, made-for-television films, and special events. This includes first-run or syndicated content released on a television or cable network, as well as entries promoting a network.
Please note: If a title premiered on linear television and was later made available on a streaming platform, it is only eligible for Broadcast TV.
Games
All video games produced for computers, consoles, handheld devices, mobile devices, and online. This includes entries promoting a game publishing company, console, or collection of games.
Home Entertainment
Titles marketed for direct-to-consumer purchase via video-on-demand or physical media. This includes entries promoting broadcast networks, streaming platforms, studios, and legacy entertainment IP for pay-per-view or purchase.
Streaming
Programs distributed primarily via streaming platforms, including episodic series, limited series, made-for-television films, original movies, and special events. This also includes entries promoting a streaming platform, as well as long-form or episodic content released digitally.
Please note: If a title premiered on linear television and was later made available on a streaming platform, it is only eligible for Broadcast TV.
Theatrical
Feature-length films released in theaters or at film festivals, including special theatrical engagements. This also includes entries promoting a film studio.
We’ve expanded the Experiential & Activation Medium to better recognize immersive and physical brand experiences.
Experiential & Activation
Work that connects an audience with an entertainment brand or IP through a live, virtual, or hybrid experience.
Events
Themed activations, occasions, exhibits, or experiences designed to engage audiences and build interest in entertainment brands or IP.
Immersive Realities
Experiences that use technology to place audiences inside a story or world. This includes AR, VR, XR, MR, and metaverse-based activations.
Special Build
Custom, temporary physical installations or structures, including large-scale out-of-home builds, pop-ups, and site-specific stunts designed for live audiences.
Other
Work that does not fit within the listed categories.
