SÃO PAULO, BRAZIL // Joanna Monteiro joined FCB Brazil in September 2012. Within a few short years, she had won 37 Lions at Cannes including a Grand Prix in Mobile. She was named "The Number 1 Creative Woman” by Business Insider, one of the "Top 5 most awarded creative directors in the world” by the Big Won Report, included in Advertising Age’s “Women to Watch", and was the only Brazilian in the 2014 Ad Age "Creativity 50". In 2015 Joanna was the President of the Mobile category at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity. In 2016, she was named President of the New Media and Innovation Category at D&AD.
Joanna began her professional advertising career as a copywriter trainee at Ogilvy, and worked as a copywriter at DPZ, W/Brasil and Africa Advertising, three iconic ad agencies in Brazil. The product of two academic powerhouses, Joanna graduated with an Arts degree from Brasilia University (UnB), and earned her postgraduate degree in Advertising & Marketing from ESPM, one of Brazil’s first institutes of higher learning, known for academic excellence in communication, marketing and business management.
