SAN FRANCISCO, USA // With studios in London, San Francisco and New York, Turner Duckworth designs visual identities and packaging for consumer brands ranging from global leaders to feisty start-ups. As well as helping achieve outstanding commercial results, their designs consistently win many of the industry’s most prestigious awards and have been published broadly. Turner Duckworth won the first ever Cannes Grand Prix for Design for their work with Coke, they were the first design company to be inducted into the Clio hall of fame and they won a Grammy for their work with Metallica.

David graduated with first class honors from St. Martin's School of Art in London and spent his early career working in the UK, Italy and Japan on packaging and identity design for consumer brands. Having worked as an independent consultant for three years in London, he co-founded Turner Duckworth in 1993 with fellow designer Bruce Duckworth, and promptly moved to San Francisco to pursue his future wife Ellen. He started Turner Duckworth North America at a desk in Ellen's dining room and went on to design identities for iconic brands like Amazon, Levi's, Coca-Cola, Samsung and the Red Cross. More recently David has been instrumental in the establishment of Turner Duckworth's third studio, in New York. David is still based in San Francisco.

David focuses on providing design leadership to global brands including Coca-Cola, Visa and Samsung as well as entrepreneurial start-ups. He has judged many global design competitions including serving as Chairman of Judges for the Clios and Foreman of judges for D&AD. He is an occasional speaker at design conferences including keynote presentations at FUSE and The Dieline Conference and The Cannes Festival of Creativity. He taught a class for Art Center Pasadena entitled “Packaging a brand” for which he created the curriculum. Creativity Magazine named David as one of the USA’s fifty most creative people.
