LOS ANGELES, USA // Lenny Mesina is an award-winning film, commercial and music video editor whose collaborations with diverse groups of filmmakers, artists, and musicians has led to editing an eclectic mix of projects over the course of his career.

Originally from New York City, Lenny attended San Francisco’s Academy of Art University before moving back to Los Angeles in 2000. He began editing music videos and commercials under the guidance of acclaimed editor Chris Hafner at the Venice boutique post house Brass Knuckles Editorial.

Over the course of partnerships with Brass Knuckles, Sunset Edit and Cutters Editorial, Lenny found a new creative calling in the world of documentary filmmaking, beginning with the street art and pop culture influencing film Beautiful Losers.

Lenny later went on to edit the Sundance Film Festival favorite and award-winning feature Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest directed by Michael Rapaport chronicling the rise and resurgence of the groundbreaking hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest; the Emmy Award-winning HBO series Sonic Highways directed by Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl; and the music film Living on Soul which features the late, great soul singers Sharon Jones and Charles Bradley and their sold out residency at Harlem’s famed Apollo Theater. Lenny also edited the documentary film MANNY about Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao, which spoke to Lenny’s Filipino-American heritage.

In addition to Lenny’s film work, he has recently collaborated with advertising legend Lee Clow at TBWA\Media Arts Lab, as well as distinguished design and visual effects companies Buck, Logan, Mirada and ManvsMachine.

Credits include commercials for brands such as Apple, Beats by Dre, BMW, CHANEL, Nike and Google; music videos for Adele, Blink 182, Common, Green Day, and 30 Seconds to Mars; as well as installations for MOCA’s “Art in the Streets” street art survey, Nike’s Beijing Olympics launch and IBM’s Centennial “THINK” exhibit at the Lincoln Center in New York.

Always on the look out for innovative projects and inspiring stories to tell, Lenny keeps busy is currently represented by Therapy Studios in Playa Vista and lives in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles.
