BROOKLYN, USA // Toygar was born in Turkey, grew up in Germany and moved to New York in 1997. In Germany he led BBDO to become the country’s most awarded network in 2008. Later he joined BBDO New York for 6 years running brands like Visa, Gillette, Campbell’s, HP, The American Red Cross, and Major League Baseball.

In 2015 he joined Havas as CCO for the Americas and worked hand-in-hand with media, data analytics and the AI capabilities of the IBM team. He ran TD Ameritrade, Liberty Mutual and Dos Equis and believes in the power collaboration of all disciplines in the service of great ideas.

It is this belief that made him Chief Creative Officer of We Are Unlimited, an agency model created for McDonald’s that unites all disciplines under one leadership and rose to a top 10 creative agency in just over year.

In 2019 he became Global Chief Creative Officer of Optimist, Brand Experience Agency of the Year in 2019. He oversaw offices across the US and Europe and pushing the boundaries of brand experience in digital, virtual, and physical expressions for clients like Nike, Amazon, Bayer and Mercedes.

Today Toygar is the Chief Creative Officer of 22 Squared, a 100% independent and 100% employee-owned agency. With 300+ employees and a fully integrated media, influencer, and social practice, it has the capabilities of a network agency and the agility of a startup. And those are exactly the reasons why he joined the team.

Over the years he judged and won at every major show, he made Adweek’s Creative 100 and Campaign’s Digital 40 over 40. It’s the result of a simple belief, “Why not make it great while you’re at it? It’s definitely more fun and more effective.”
