NEW YORK, USA // Rachel Epstein is the Vice President, Live Sports & Audience Expansion for ESPN.
In her role, Epstein oversees marketing for a variety of ESPN properties including WNBA, NWSL, tennis, all NCAA Championships, MLB, F1, golf, international soccer, Little League World Series/Little League Softball World Series, lacrosse, cricket, and espnW brands & experiences.
Additionally, she oversees marketing strategy to drive female audience expansion across the enterprise, leveraging key live sports, storytelling, brand, and content properties that are vital to female audience growth.
Specific to espnW, Epstein leads programming and development of espnW events, including the annual espnW: Women + Sport Summit, the leading event of its kind. Epstein started at ESPN July 2012.
Prior to her role with ESPN and espnW, Epstein was part of the leadership team that launched Women’s Professional Soccer (WPS), overseeing marketing, events, and sponsorship for the league.
Before launching WPS, she was an Associate Director in ESPN’s Consumer Marketing group, responsible for the marketing and promotion of NBA and WNBA programming across ESPN’s media platforms.
Epstein’s early career began at Wenner Media, where she managed ad sales marketing for Rolling Stone, Us Weekly, and Men’s Journal magazines.
A native of Buffalo, New York, Epstein graduated from Indiana University in 1995. As a member of IIU’s tennis team, she garnered All-America honors, was a three-time All-Big Ten player, four-time Big Ten Champion, and team captain her senior year.
