LOS ANGELES, USA // Barbara Maningat is a passionate visual storyteller with over a decade of professional experience dedicated to strengthening brands through creative content. As the Director of Content & Brand at Galaxy Studios, the in-house creative agency for the LA Galaxy, Barbara plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction and elevating content quality across all platforms. Her work not only drives revenue but also forges meaningful connections between the club, its fans, and the broader culture.

Barbara holds a Master’s degree in Journalism/Strategic Communication and a Bachelor’s degree in Convergence Journalism with a Minor in Business from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her journey began behind the camera, where she spent over eight years in video production with the England FA, US Women’s National Team and the Houston Dynamo FC & Dash before channeling her expertise into content creation for Galaxy Studios.

Throughout her career, Barbara has contributed to creative teams that have achieved notable accolades, including the 2019 Clio Sports Bronze Award and the 2018 Leaders Sports Award in Content Creation for the LA Galaxy’s #zLAtan integrated campaign. Such teamwork also earned her the 2019 MLS Digital Content Activation of the Year award for the unveiling of the David Beckham statue. Additionally, she received national recognition in 2016 for ideating and producing “The SLICE,” a groundbreaking mini-documentary series for the Houston Dynamo.

In her current role, Barbara serves as Executive Producer for a diverse range of original content, from longform documentaries and series for the MLS Season Pass on AppleTV to creative campaigns, branded content, and social media assets. She played a key role in the success of the RetroGrade third kit campaign, part of the adidas x MLS Archive Collection, which included the historic launch of the kit into space—a project two years in the making.

She is also a CBAPP Advisory Board Member, an inaugural member of the LA Galaxy’s DEI Council, and actively involved with WISE LA and AAPI in Sports & Entertainment – LA. Leading with insatiable curiosity and a fervor for brainstorming, Barbara believes that storytelling and strategy form the strongest backbone of any brand.
