While researching ahead of Jack White’s two-night stand at Chicago’s Salt Shed, I discovered that a Chicago-based boxer also named Jack White fought two matches on the exact same dates back in 1908. The uncanny parallel, separated by 117 years, became the foundation for this project. To commemorate the concerts, I designed a pair of 18×24 silkscreened posters, each referencing the results of the boxer’s bout on that day. The imagery reimagines the fighter as a spectral version of Jack White, his punches charged with electricity, grounded by typography that echoes Jack White's recent 'No Name' album aesthetic. The concept extended beyond the posters, with two 48×72-inch prints flanking the venue’s entrance and a pair of 24×36 text-based companion pieces designed for the interior, merging the language of the ring with Jack’s lyrics. Two Jack Whites. Two nights. 117 years apart. Both stepped into the ring. Both came out swinging.
