DETROIT, USA // Asia Gholston is the Vice President of Marketing for the Detroit Tigers, where she leads initiatives across brand strategy, marketing operations, digital media, social media, authentics, and fan development. Before joining the Tigers, she was the Vice President of Marketing at the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars, overseeing revenue-generating marketing, NFL league-wide causes, brand management, and storytelling for the team’s community impact initiatives. Under her leadership, the Jaguars’ social media team achieved top-five rankings in the NFL, with several campaigns receiving awards from the American Advertising Awards, The Webby Awards, and the Hashtag Sports Awards. Gholston’s professional background includes roles with the NFL, NBA, L’Oréal, Chevrolet, Cadillac, and BET Networks.
A Detroit native, she graduated from Michigan State University’s College of Communication Arts and Sciences. Gholston is passionate about creating equity in the front office of sports and has been a member of the Business of Diversity in Sports and Entertainment (BDSE) in partnership with the National Sports Forum and serves as a board advisor for the Black Sports Business Symposium and the Black Sports Business Academy. In 2024, she was appointed to the Governing Board of PRO Sports Assembly.
Gholston has been recognized as a Michigan State Rising Star (2019), one of the NFL’s 40 Under 40 (2020), Paradigm for Parity Woman on the Rise (2021), a Hashtag Sports Creator of Color (2022), a UBSC Power 50 Under 40 honoree (2023). Asia currently resides in the city of Detroit with her fiancé and twins Maverick and Milo.
