MILWAUKEE, USA // After graduating with a journalism degree from Youngstown State University, Chelsea Powell started her career in 2011 on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. as a production assistant at C-SPAN. She worked in several departments at the network, assisting with live event and live studio coverage, as well as producing segments for the network’s premiere live morning show “Washington Journal.” In 2013, she decided to combine her love of live production with her first love: sports. She made the jump to professional sports production at Monumental Sports & Entertainment in Washington, D.C., where she was a video producer on the Washington Wizards and Washington Capitals content and production teams. At MSE, she produced the Emmy-Award winning “Wizards Magazine,” a first-of-its kind all-access show for the Washington Wizards. She also produced live studio shows and game broadcasts for the Wizards and the WNBA’s Washington Mystics, winning a Cynopsis Media award for her sports studio show work in 2016.
In 2018, Chelsea became the director of game presentation for the Washington Wizards and attended the NBA Bubble as a producer for all 96 days of the experience. She then became the director and senior director of game presentation at the Brooklyn Nets and the Detroit Pistons, respectively. She currently is the Senior Director of Production & Live Events at the Milwaukee Bucks, where she oversees in-arena content and live event production for Bucks and Fiserv Forum. Throughout her tenure working at NBA teams, she has worked as a producer at six NBA All Star weekends.
Chelsea also served as a venue producer at the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics, showcalling beach volleyball at Eifel Tower Stadium. In the summer of 2025, she served as the Entertainment Show Director for the FIFA Club World Cup, showcalling matches at Lincoln Financial Field.
In her spare time, you’ll find Chelsea with her husband of 6 years exploring wineries and breweries, listening to Taylor Swift, shopping at a local farmers market, or posting adorable pictures of her pets on social media – Ellie, a border collie and Meeko, a Siamese cat.
