Catherine Sadler

NEW YORK, USA // Catherine Sadler joined Banana Republic in 2009. She currently serves as Global Chief Marketing Officer leading all aspects of the global marketing organization: Brand Engagement, Communications, Creative Services, Visual Merchandising and Store Design. Catherine is responsible for initiatives that create brand advocacy and reinforce Banana Republic’s global positioning. She is recognized for spearheading notable marketing partnerships and designer collaborations with Mad Men, Virgin America, Anna Karenina and Issa London, to name a few—all of which have been great successes for the brand.

Throughout her 30-year career, Catherine has been a proven innovator and creative leader for renowned retail companies like Ann Taylor, Coach, Urban Zen and Conran's. Catherine also led her own creative and marketing agency with clients including Donna Karan, Tiffany & Co., Montblanc and Safilo. Catherine is renowned for connecting with customers through emotional marketing campaigns that help keep brands well positioned as icons with relevance in the competitive landscape we live in today.

Catherine graduated magna cum laude from Windham College where she holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English language and literature. She also attended the Parsons School of Design where she studied graphic design and communications. She has been a guest lecturer at Essec graduate school in Paris and an expert panelist at Columbia Business School. Over her substantive career, her work has contributed to personal and brand awards including induction into the Academy of Women Achievers, Catalog Age Awards and the Gold Lion award for retail marketing from the Cannes Film Festival.
