SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA // Darren Price is an award-winning animation director and the founder of animation studio, Mighty Nice. Mighty Nice is a Nexus Studios company and features on the Nexus director roster but also works with Nexus as an animation studio, supporting directors in the US and UK. Mighty Nice was born in 2008 when Darren Price, former Head of 3D at Nexus Studios, returned to Australia and established the studio in partnership with Nexus founders Chris O‘Reilly and Charlotte Bavasso. At Nexus, he played key roles in such greats as Honda Grrr, Coke’s The Heist, and the opening titles for Lemony Snicket for Dreamworks with Smith & Foulkes. He won a BAFTA for his first short film and has not stopped since – constantly finding new ways of animating characters and telling stories in different and exciting ways. With over 20 years experience as a CG artist, designer, director and storyteller, Darren has built a thriving studio in Mighty Nice, won many advertising and animation awards, and launched two children’s TV series.
