NEW YORK CITY, USA // As Senior Manager, Global Event Experience at Major League Baseball, Emilie Matson is at the forefront of shaping baseball fans’ unforgettable moments. Now in her sixth Major League season – previously with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and now with the Commissioner’s Office – she spearheads the live experience at the league’s premier events worldwide, from MLB World Tour stops in Tokyo, London, and the Dominican Republic, to the iconic MLB All-Star Week and World Series. Often found in the control room, Emilie oversees scoreboard and event production to deliver a seamless and on-time presentation at each event. She thrives on solving the puzzle of the ideal run of show: leveraging MLB’s extensive events platform for league partners and priorities, while delivering entertaining and authentic fan experiences around the world.
Emilie got her start in professional sports with an undergraduate internship as a camera operator with the State College Spikes. A proud Penn State graduate, Emilie now strives to spread the word to current students that fan experience and game presentation are real (and fun!) career options in sports. Emilie is thrilled to join the CLIOs in celebrating exceptional creative work as a 2025 juror. Emilie resides in NYC, but is an honorary “Yinzer” and a lifelong Pittsburgh sports supporter.
