LOS ANGELES, USA // Malik Ducard spent five years as Pinterest’s first Chief Content Officer, setting global content strategy and building the company’s content and curation organization from the ground up. He oversaw teams responsible for everything from content production to external content and editorial partnerships, working with an ecosystem of more than a million creators.

Before Pinterest, Ducard was Vice President of Content Partnerships at YouTube, where he served as the platform’s bridge to Hollywood and co-founded YouTube Kids. Earlier he worked in studio distribution at MGM, Lionsgate, and Paramount Pictures, closing some of the industry’s first deals with Netflix and Apple. He began his career in advertising at Young & Rubicam in New York, on a team that was named Global New Business Agency of the Year.

He is a maker himself. From his earliest days lugging a camera around his high school to capture stories and taking photos to document his childhood in the Bronx, Ducard has embraced the joy of creating content and telling stories. He wrote the children’s book Henry’s Big Win, winner of the 2015 Jessie Redmon Fauset Award, co-created and executive produced a series for Showtime, and helped create Pinterest’s first shoppable streaming series for The Roku Channel.

Ducard is board president of the Two Bit Circus Foundation and a board member of Complexly, both youth education-focused nonprofits. He resides in Los Angeles with his wife and three sons, and holds a BA from Columbia University and an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.
