TORONTO, CANADA // Patrick Coffey has been navigating the worlds of design, animation and visual effects for over 30 years. Before co-founding Tendril in 2010, Patrick contributed to groundbreaking creative studios Topix, Mr X and Intelligent Creatures, partnered in a successful commercial editing company and co-founded a boutique VFX studio. Patrick has worked in almost every creative production role in the film and advertising industries, including many years as a Flame artist, VFX Supervisor and Director, where he was known for his attention to detail, powerful communication skills, and passion for solving creative challenges. As an ECD at Tendril, he is a champion of studio culture and employee growth, supporting teams to push creative boundaries while also meeting the needs of clients. He believes in purpose driven design, an agile workflow, and that empathy is the root of good communication and collaboration. Outside the studio, he is a former professional swing dancer, teacher, and an avid karaoke enthusiast.
