BERLIN, GERMANY // Philip Bolland was born in Bremen and took an unconventional route into advertising. After early stints in a car factory, a year of military service, and three years in banking, he found his place as a copywriter. He began at Springer & Jacoby in Hamburg, then joined DDB Berlin, where he spent five years working on the international Volkswagen account. From 2011 to 2024, Philip worked as a Copywriter and later Creative Director at agencies including thjnk, Jung von Matt, VCCP, and Philipp und Keuntje / fischerAppelt. After two decades across automotive, finance, and FMCG, he shifted his focus to healthcare communications and is now Executive Creative Director at PEIX Health Group — one of Germany’s leading creative agencies in pharma and healthcare.
Philip is a passionate runner and a devoted reader of Haruki Murakami. His work has been recognised with numerous awards including Cannes Lions, Clio, ADC, LIA, The One Show, and NYF, and he has previously served as a juror for The Webby Awards, D&AD New Blood, and COMPRIX Germany.
