UNIVERSAL CITY, USA // Shannon Willett serves as Chief Marketing Officer, Peacock, NBCUniversal. In this role, Willett oversees global marketing for Peacock, leading all functions including Brand Creative and Marketing; Title Creative and Marketing; Marketing Strategy, Planning, Analysis and Performance Media; Growth and Lifecycle Marketing; and Publicity, Events and Talent Engagement. Willett reports to Kelly Campbell, President, Peacock and Direct to Consumer, NBCUniversal.
Since arriving at Peacock in April 2022, Willett has played a key role in the streamer’s tremendous growth as the fastest growing streaming service in the United States for the past two years. Under Willett, Peacock won its first Primetime Emmys for original series Poker Face and The Traitors and broke industry records hosting the first-ever streaming-exclusive NFL Wild Card Game, which was responsible for 30% of all internet traffic the evening of January 13, 2024.
Willett previously served as Vice President, Global Marketing Strategy and Operations at Netflix. She led marketing campaigns with a focus on maximizing growth, global reach, efficiency, and impact across the world. Prior to building the marketing strategy and operations team, Willett held multiple leadership roles across Netflix Marketing. She played a critical role in everything from the launch of Netflix’s first original films to building campaigns for major hits like Squid Game, Stranger Things and Bird Box.
Before joining Netflix in 2015, Willett spent nearly a decade in the agency world overseeing marketing and media strategy for organizations ranging from Cirque du Soleil to major film studios helping her clients drive revenue and brand recognition.
Willett was honored with the Variety Entertainment Marketing Visionaries Award for her work leading Peacock’s marketing organization. Willett holds a Master of Arts from American University and received her Bachelor of Arts from Georgetown University. Currently based in Los Angeles with her husband Kyler and daughter Liliana, she is an avid hiker, backpacker, and general outdoor adventure enthusiast.
