LONDON, UK // Tom Allwood is Managing Director and Co-Founder of MATTA, a creative agency specialising in sport, fitness and lifestyle. Born in the south of England, Tom studied Music and English at Cambridge University before starting professional life as a — what turned out to be — very average photographer. He quickly realised this and founded a digital studio, going on to create campaigns and products for clients including Diageo, Microsoft and Penguin Random House.

In 2015, he co-founded MATTA with Matt Hunt and Matt Campbell — he’s the TA at the end, OK? — with a mission to harness the emotional power of sport to create work that genuinely matters to consumers. Since then, they’ve rebranded the ATP, led the creative for multiple World Cups, and seen the Lionesses brand they built for the England Women’s Football team become a household name. They’ve introduced Clinique to its first sports partnership (with women’s rugby), brought cricket to the US for the ICC, and overseen content campaigns that have reached into billions of views. And regularly had to pinch themselves. Their work has been recognised by The Clios, the Sports Industry Awards and the Sports Business Awards, where MATTA has been named Agency of the Year several times over. Tom’s proud to be judging for the Clios and grateful for the excuse to spend time with the most innovative and effective work in the industry.

Outside of the office, you’ll find him in a park in East London with a cricket bat, trying to teach his kids the value of a solid forward defensive.
