This innovative project seamlessly blends CGI with traditional 2D animation, illustration, and painting, bridging the worlds of high-end visual effects and classic comic book art. A carefully curated design bible, built from original concept art, ensured both authenticity to the Marvel Universe and a unique style for each character, with special attention to their contrasting looks. The 3D team crafted detailed character models and bespoke FX systems, with Daredevil presenting a particularly unique challenge—his constantly evolving watercolor look was achieved by transforming realistic shading into organic blocks of color and texture. Working closely with the director, a detailed previs laid the foundation for filming and editing, while character animations were designed to reflect the true personalities of these iconic Marvel heroes and villains. The result is a visually stunning, dynamic fusion of traditional artistry and modern CGI techniques.
