Our experience of time is fluid. As we age, our perception of it changes. Concepts like hours and years fall by the wayside in favor of what the director called 'felt time’, as our duration of life lived constantly changes, creating an experience of relativity. The director wanted to play with this idea using a hand-cranked camera. By doing so, he could sculpt time in response to our intuition of the moment we're witnessing as it unfolds. Additionally, it allows to separate the subjective experience from the omniscient one, creating a more immersive experience for the viewer. To execute craft at its best is a prerequisite for this film to resonate with an audience.
