Sport Your Period encourages athletes to normalize menstruation in sports by wearing a discreet, unbranded red decal when competing on their period. Many athletes became ambassadors, and then Knix partnered with Megan Rapinoe to encourage athletes to publicly discuss their periods whenever the decal wasn’t allowed – including the Olympics. Knix became the first sponsor of menstruating athletes by compensating them for simply acknowledging their period, even without mentioning Knix or 'Sport Your Period.' The initiative made the most of loopholes in sponsorship regulations in major sporting events, making periods visible on the world stage in order to destigmatize periods in sports.
