Those most directly affected by gun violence in America, the victims killed in shootings, have lost their ability to speak out for change. So we devised a way to give their voices back. Using the latest innovations in AI technology, we re-created the voices of shooting victims from across the country, letting them call Congress themselves to demand reform.
These calls from shooting victims themselves were sent through our custom digital platform. Anyone in the country could—with just a few clicks—trigger the AI voices to call Congress, sharing stories of how they were killed, and demanding reform.
The Shotline drove 5.4B earned media impressions, a +46% increase in gun violence conversation, and a 278% increase in civic engagement with over 170K calls placed to Congress. The campaign was hailed by NPR as “a new frontier in politics” and by WSJ as “a new era for artificial intelligence” due to its radically innovative approach to gun reform advocacy. All with just $5,000.
