Being around for over 150 years and present in 192 countries makes Heineken one of the most popular beer brands in the world, but most importantly: the most misspelled beer brand in the world. With millions of people all over the planet constantly mistreating our brand by mispronouncing, misspelling, and misusing Heineken. And so when we found out that people think Heineken is German, that nobody can spell nor pronounce our name and basically they don't care about our brand, we soon realized that those were not setbacks but proof of the brand's widespread enjoyment across cultures. Afterall as our founder once said, we are in the business of good times. So instead of fighting these mistakes, we decided to celebrate them. Globally. And so for Heineken 150th anniversary, the brand decided to… not celebrate Heineken, but the way people enjoyed it. One way or another. And just like that, for a full year, we stopped being Heineken and started being Whateverken people wanted us to be, to have good times. Parties and events, tons of exclusive collabs with some of the most famous brands in the world (like... Adidas and Monopoly!), millions of bottles available all over the world, and lots of good times... and guess what? None of them spelled Heineken correctly. But who cares, we're in the good times business after all.
