The film “Getting Ready,” created for Sephora on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, was designed to help young women recognise the early signs of violence in their relationships, as control over makeup is one of them. The idea developed from a study conducted with a sample of more than 7,000 women across the world, which revealed that 1 in 3 feel controlled by their partners when it comes to makeup. Despite this, not all of them realise that this is an early sign of violence. The differentiating approach of our campaign, compared to most initiatives aimed at eliminating violence against women, is that ours helps women before physical violence occurs, so they can recognize the signs of an abusive relationship and leave.
