ALS is a fatal disease with no cure. Over time, its victims lose their ability to move and speak. But their minds remain. As do their desires for connection and self-expression. Studies have shown that mental health and quality of life are dramatically improved by our ability to communicate. Meet Iomar, a loving father of two with ALS. Currently, Iomar can move and speak, but it's only a matter of time before he loses his motor function and his voice. So, we used AI to keep his voice and likeness, alive. Thus, restoring the gift of loving connection and self-expression even as the disease takes his voice, motor function and eventually, his life. Beyond Iomar, this technology is currently changing the lives of ALS patients in six countries. With the goal of reaching everyone with the disease, the voice synthesis technology has now been made free for anyone with ALS.
