SYNOPSIS: "Strangers" is a short film that tells the story of seemingly disconnected strangers around the world, living their lives, but remaining connected by something unexpected. A young man hiking to the peak of a mountain in the snow. A little girl honing her rugby skills. A single mother enjoying time in the kitchen messing about with her two kids. A pianist performing at a café once again A dad telling a bedtime story to his kid. A young graduate capturing a key milestone moment in life with his parents. An old man enjoying his time feeding birds in a park. A mother seeing her toddler for the first time ever. Mundane moments. But there’s one thing that makes them special. And in the end, we know why. “Strangers” encompasses the truth that there are strangers who impact our lives in ways that make us feel alive, but also, in ways that make them feel alive. With “Strangers”, the brand takes on the taboo too but with velvet gloves. Based on the premise of “we live on through what we give”, the film shares how when we choose to give a part of us to others, we keep a part of us alive in them. - DIRECTION: Approach: Individual stories emerge organically while giving equal weight to the narrative, creating a tapestry of experiences – from intrigue to confusion to emotional gratification. Casting: The diversity in casting, with actors who emote without dialogue, helps the film resonate on both personal and universal levels. Music: The music, with suited lyrics, is understated, allowing the narrative to breathe without overpowering it, complementing the visual storytelling by enhancing moments of introspection and emotional release. Cinematography: Scenes are composed with clear attention to detail, ensuring every frame contributes to the reflective and often contemplative tone. The visuals invite to connect intimately with the subjects. The use of soft, natural lighting lends a “romantic” atmosphere to the entire film. Editing: The editing has a measured rhythm. Its pace is deliberate, giving time to absorb each story and reflective moment.
