Every Pacific nation has a mythology and indigenous cultural deities to draw from; we wanted to reimagine a champion for each competing nation and represent their prowess in rugby. To build excitement and support for each competing team we crafted six ocean dwelling titans; one for each competing team, created from a love of myth, storytelling and culture. The energy that the cultural champions harness in the title sequence would become a key visual mnemonic across the entire graphics system.
