Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Kurtis Blow’s iconic anthem “Basketball,” the campaign reimagined the beloved track for today’s audience, blending nostalgia with cutting-edge creativity to deliver a powerful message about the enduring connection between basketball and hip-hop.
Featuring Kurtis Blow, rising rap star Lola Brooke, and Grammy-winning producer Hit-Boy, the campaign’s music video paid homage to the original while embracing the energy of modern basketball culture. Directed by Dave Meyers and his daughter Cassidy, the visuals updated iconic scenes from the 1980s with vibrant NYC streetball courts, trick dunkers, and diverse representation, creating a fresh yet familiar tribute to the sport.
