Fans of almost every passion have always had events that let them gather to celebrate their fandom. Lollapalooza for music fans. ComicCon for comic book and video game fans. Even garlic fans have a festival. But there was nothing for the 270 million American sports fans. Fanatics is all about the sports fan. We had to correct this.
So we started Fanatics Fest, the first-ever festival designed specifically for sports fans.
125,000 fans. 300 plus athletes and celebrities. 3 Days in NYC. If it happens in the world of sports, it happened at Fanatics Fest.
Fan’s favorite shows were filmed there, featuring the likes of Stephen A Smith and LeBron James. We created 50+ stunts tailored to athletes so fans could see their sports heroes like never had before. The Javits Center became the world’s biggest card shop, giving collectors the chance to interact with some of the most prized names & items in the hobby. And we even created an olympic style competition that let 50 fans compete against 50 athletes for the first time.
All in all, it added up to an unforgettable weekend for fans and one of the most successful stretches in our brand’s history. It generated over 13.8B total impressions and 134 social posts with more than a million views, totaling over 525 million social impressions. In addition the event rendered the most viewed piece of social media content in the history of the brand. And even it's own documentary on ESPN.
