Fanatics Fest is the Lollapalooza of sports, bringing 125,000 rabid sports fans to NYC for a three-day festival. This gives fans the chance to see some of their favorite athletes in person.
But athlete and fan meet and greets happen every day. We wanted to make these encounters feel special to the people at the fest. And use them to create content worthy of going viral with the millions of fans who’d be following along online.
So we created more than 50 unique experiences around the athletes & celebrities in attendance to give fans a glimpse of their sports heroes they rarely, if ever, get.
Fans didn’t just meet Gronk. They met 20 Gronks. And tried to figure out who the real one was. Fans didn’t just meet Dennis Rodman. They met Keegan Michael Key doing an impression of Dennis Rodman while meeting Dennis Rodman himself. Fans didn’t just meet Wemby. They played him in a 100 vs 1 game of Chess. And 50 fans even got to take on 50 athletes in an olympic style competition with $2,000,000 on the line.
And it wasn’t just rewarding for fans on the ground. Fans watching online ate the content up. We posted 805 pieces of content featuring talent. Generated 525 million impressions. Made 134 social posts with a million or more views. And a post featuring WWE icon John Cena taking part in one of our stunts became the single most viewed piece of content in the history of the brand.
