For the opening of the SNMVC, Amazon Music collaborated with DJ and producer Honey Dijon on a music exhibit – a recreation of the Stonewall jukebox from 1969. For the exhibit, Honey selected a spiritual collection of songs that represented queer joy, life, and liberation at a time when change was in the air. Her goal was for visitors to connect with the Stonewall legacy through the music that united the community. "The music I chose is a way to understand this historic moment in time through a different lens — through the musical lens. Because it wasn’t all just fighting back. It was also joy, celebration, community, and sisterhood." This collection lives in a vintage jukebox at the SNMVC, as a playlist on Amazon Music, and as a narrated playlist with Honey’s curation notes. A short film on the project shares her curation process.
