When Dr. Oetker launched Suprema, its most premium frozen pizza in over twenty years, it set out to prove that frozen could be extraordinary. Suprema offers restaurant-quality taste and craftsmanship with frozen-aisle convenience, so its debut needed to be just as elevated.
Instead of an ad, we staged an opera. Performed live at a Toronto theatre, the fully original production dramatized the origin story of pizza through song, romance, and humour—an unexpected performance that embodied Suprema’s artistry.
As the final note rang out, guests were served hot Suprema slices, turning the audience into participants. The performance was filmed and shared online as an edible timer, letting home cooks bake along from their own kitchens.
Through PR, influencer buzz, and rave reviews from both opera critics and food media, Suprema became a cultural event, blending old-world performance with modern marketing.
By transforming a frozen pizza launch into a live, emotional experience, Suprema earned the standing ovation it deserved, and proved that even in the frozen aisle, there’s room for drama, passion, and taste worthy of the stage.
