Good Night, Gaza is a dual-front-cover book preserving Palestinian oral stories collected in refugee camps. Its physical design expresses the meeting of two cultures: Norwegian and Arabic are given equal space, read from opposite directions, converging in the middle at sunrise. The book uses bi-scriptual typography—Lyon for Norwegian and Azahar Text for Arabic—chosen to harmonize visually despite their structural differences. Illustrated by Zarina Saidova, the pages layer CMYK colors to echo the Palestinian flag, while a shirting spine holds the two halves together. With two ribbon markers and a tactile, open-bound structure, the book is both a cultural document and a crafted object designed to be displayed, handled, and shared.
