To celebrate the return of the Scary Movie franchise, we built the “Get Ghostfaced" interactive TikTok filter, designed to inject the film's iconic humor directly into user-generated content. Instead of a standard face-mask filter that alters the creator's appearance, this effect leverages augmented reality to drop Ghostface himself directly into the user's camera frame. By treating Ghostface as a live co-star, the filter transforms ordinary TikToks into collaborative, comedic sketches. Users can instantly cycle through three distinct physical mask variations that spoof the franchise’s most legendary tropes, unlocking specialized interactive behaviors: SAY WAZZZUP: Triggers the classic, tongue-out expression, allowing users to recreate the infamous, generation-defining phone call with Ghostface right over their shoulder. A 3D tongue is mapped to the user’s mouth and is triggered upon opening of the mouth. GET LIT: Swaps in the iconic, stoned expression, letting creators "blow smoke" and vibe alongside horror's most chaotic slacker. As users open their mouths to “blow smoke”, the effect is triggered to have smoke blow from the creator’s mouth and ears.
