Newspaper headlines and stories are a recurring visual motif throughout THE SECRET AGENT, reflecting the censorship, political corruption and control of information in 1970s Brazil. We saw an opportunity to turn that language of suppression into a celebration of the film itself. By repurposing the film’s newspaper imagery and replacing its headlines with rave critical reviews, we created a motion graphics concept that feels organically embedded in the world of the movie rather than layered on top of it. The result transforms a central symbol of censorship into a bold showcase for one of the year’s most acclaimed and awarded international films.
