For Pride, HBO Max partnered with Olympic Gold Medalist and Heated Rivalry superfan Amber Glenn to bring a fan dream to life. After publicly expressing her desire to see and participate in a sapphic version of Heated Rivalry, Amber collaborated with HBO Max, content creator Lena Lemon, and queer director Jen Stafford to create an original cinematic reinterpretation of the series through the world of elite figure skating. Drawing inspiration from the fandom's embrace of "All the Things She Said" as an unofficial anthem, the film translated Heated Rivalry's signature themes of rivalry, longing, and queer connection into a powerful new story told through athletic performance and choreography. What began as a fan's vision became a cultural moment, resonating across entertainment, sports, and LGBTQ+ communities while celebrating the power of authentic representation, fandom, and creative collaboration.
