To introduce the Disney+ Korean Original series Made in Korea, we created a first-look pre-teaser centered on Baek Kitae, a KCIA agent navigating the power, money and political turmoil of 1970s Korea. Rather than explaining Kitae’s story through dialogue, the film unfolds almost entirely through imagery, sound design and match cuts, offering glimpses of violence, wealth and ambition while deliberately withholding the full picture. Only at the end does Kitae finally speak, calmly offering his explanation for everything the audience has just witnessed: “I’m just a businessman.” By withholding dialogue until the final moment, the pre-teaser uses one deceptively simple line to reframe everything that comes before it—introducing the contradiction at the heart of Kitae’s character: a government agent who sees power, influence and ambition simply as business.
