Our campaign creatively approached how to advertise a film as gruesome and bloody as Lee Cronin's The Mummy with clever editing that created atmospheric pieces, dropping audiences into the same mystery that the Cannon family faces while trying to figure out what happened to their daughter. Our campaign beats followed in their journey, starting with pieces that creaked open a sarcophagus and used the mummy bandages as a visual to literally peel away editorial cuts.
Once it was clear that a demonic entity had taken over Katie's body, our creative shifted to solving how, or if, it could ever be cast out. Using staticky footage like the found tape of Katie to literal Morse Code cuts that communicated actual messages to fans, we dropped clues that let people feel as a part of saving Katie as her family did.
Of course, we also had to have a little fun in some of our cuts. With lines like ""Don't worry grandma, being fun is dead,"" we created a campaign that mixed true terror with unforgettable lines and scenes that made The Mummy feel like a must-see in theaters.
