World Cup kit reveals had become formulaic: slick production, exclusive drops, built for the algorithm. Puma wanted to change that.
To launch its 2026 World Cup kits, PUMA embedded itself in the communities who wear their jerseys every day, creating a celebration spanning three boroughs, rooted in the diaspora neighborhoods of New York, sharing Ramadan sweets with Moroccan and Egyptian neighbors in Astoria, and taking over a Ghanaian restaurant in the Bronx. That groundwork built real anticipation ahead of the main event: a city-wide activation converged at Brooklyn's Domino Square for a full block party, free and open to all. A celebration of the eleven nations PUMA sponsors with eleven custom trucks—each one a window into a different culture with local food, live music, and design rooted in identity and heritage.
Community players from each nation took to the pitch and unveiled the kits in play–modeled for the first time by people who represent these colors every day. Over 10,000 people showed up on the strength of community pride alone. Not to watch a kit reveal, but to be part of one. A global moment, turned local. Of the people, for the people, by the people.
