The strategy was to build an activation around something fans already felt, rather than ask them to participate in an unrelated promotional activity.
Football supporters attach meaning to their presence. They remember the victories they witnessed, repeat lucky rituals and believe that being there can make a difference. Lucky Fan Index translated that emotional investment into a digital experience with an immediately personal invitation: discover how lucky you are for your team.
The experience connected three elements: personal discovery, ongoing participation and tangible recognition.
Discovery came from combining attendance histories with detailed match statistics. Instead of presenting the same content to everyone, the platform gave each supporter a score rooted in the games they had attended. The club’s history became something they could explore through their own involvement.
Participation came from the ability to track and compare indexes. The score was not simply a result to view once; it was an evolving point of interest connected to the football season. Comparison added friendly competition to a shared passion, giving supporters another reason to discuss the club and revisit the experience.
Recognition brought the digital idea into the physical world. VIP-box upgrades rewarded the luckiest supporters with an enhanced stadium experience, while Fan Shop discounts gave the unluckiest a positive outcome too.
Together, these elements connected digital interaction with the behavior Wisła needed most: returning to the stadium. Following launch, average attendance reached a league-leading 26,183, up 42.2% from the previous season. The initiative also generated 228 publications with an estimated reach of 7.7 million.
