Ruby Blooms was created in response to a critical cultural and systemic gap: autistic girls experiencing their first period without preparation, support, or tools designed for how they process the world. In a region where menstruation is still taboo, this gap is amplified by silence and avoidance. Instead of launching a traditional campaign, Nana designed Ruby Blooms, the world’s first sensory-aware period guidebook for autistic girls. Developed with autism specialists, the guide helps girls explore what periods feel like before experiencing them in real life, using touch, scent, sound, and calm visual cues. We faced a key challenge: how to introduce a deeply sensitive topic without cultural resistance or public exposure. By entering trusted spaces directly through clinics, therapy centres, and schools, Ruby Blooms transformed education into experience. The work delivered measurable behavioural change and institutional adoption in a space where brands rarely gain access.
