With this campaign, we unveil millennia of Andalusian history and culture for tourists willing to face a destination as challenging as ANDALUSIA. To achieve this, the campaign features the renowned composer Hans Zimmer as its protagonist. The musician takes on the challenge of creating an original composition worthy of Andalusia’s musical and cultural legacy—a score that narrates the story of its roots, beliefs, and myths, conveying to international tourists, without resorting to stereotypes, the feeling of discovering Andalusia.
The complexity of the assignment and the musician's own creative process shape the narrative of the spot, in which he recounts his surrender to the beauty and vast artistic and cultural richness of the region. His original composition is ultimately overpowered by the Andalusian sacred music piece "Eternidad." Visually, the spot's poetic imagery accompanies the musician’s alter ego in his surrender, leaving viewers with unforgettable images and emotions.
At the beginning of the spot, Zimmer's alter ego hears a lament and the sound of hammering within a crevice. In an almost cinematic ellipsis, he witnesses the origins of flamenco, through a visual composition that incorporates both pagan and religious symbols, culminating in a bonfire surrounded by folkloric dancers from Jaén. From that moment, Zimmer’s surrender is conveyed through frames that are true works of art—a poetic and powerful execution that blends expressive real-life portraits of Andalusian painters with cinematic tributes, such as the homage to Orson Welles (buried in Ronda) and his Citizen Kane. A sober and shadowy visual language is ultimately overcome by the luminous entrance of the traditional Andalusian music Eternidad in a memorable finale.
