In exploring the logo for Alien Earth, we initially experimented with unfamiliar sci-fi and horror aesthetics, but ultimately returned to the legacy of the franchise itself. The original 1979 Alien logotype has become iconic, and honoring that lineage was essential. Retaining the typeface provided continuity, while the structural symmetry of the five-letter words “ALIEN” and “EARTH” offered a natural opportunity for a stacked lockup. For the single-line version, we pushed the design toward something fresh—subtly infusing a contemporary science-fiction sensibility without straying from the brand’s DNA. Merging the two words into a unified form while giving “ALIEN” additional weight created a balance between the familiar and the new: a mark that both respects the heritage of the franchise and signals the evolution of its story.
