74% of Japanese people supports same-sex marriage. But Japan hasn't legalized it because of the low number of lawmakers in favor. So it’s essential to increase the number of pro-equality candidates. However, during elections, campaign posters that voters encounter typically show only candidate faces and names, making it difficult to understand their stances. Therefore, Marriage for All Japan developed PRIDE FILTER, an AR camera that helps voters find pro-marriage-equality candidates. Scan the election posters with a smartphone. Then the posters of candidates who support marriage equality turn rainbow-colored. And the reasons for supporting are clearly detailed. This tool became available at 258,000 poster display locations nationwide and was used by countless voters. As a result of the election, the number of lawmakers supporting same-sex marriage increased by 120%. Additionally, The High Court ruled that not recognizing same-sex marriage is unconstitutional.
