We have all said “I want to die” at some point without thinking, as a momentary release. But for 1 in 3 people in the LGBTIQ+ community, those words are a real desire.
Inspired by this reality, The Trevor Project, México Vivo, Femess, Sico, and Gilead created Más que palabras (More Than Words), a short film directed by Gerard Mates that transforms this insight into an unforgettable experience, transforming cold statistics into a compelling cinematic experience, showing a reality that exists in Mexico but that no one wants to see: suicide in the LGBTIQ+ community.
Generating a two-way message, one for society to leave behind prejudice, labeling, discrimination, and violence towards people in the LGBTIQ+ community by showing that words kill, and a second where we show two suicide prevention platforms where people in the community can ask for help, know that they are not alone, and can... save their lives.
