Disney is a brand known for its creative storytelling, and only Disney could tell a story about a girl's imaginative Doodle coming to life. When creating this holiday short, we had the intention of using Disney's strong stake in storytelling to a unique tale about a girl named Molly and her doodle. Out story begins with Molly absentmindedly doodling on her letter to Santa. To her surprise, Santa mistakes her doodle as a Christmas wish and gifts her with a real, living, breathing version of her doodle on Christmas morning. The film goes on to show warm and funny moments of Molly and her doodle going about their new lives together. But there's one small problem, Molly forgot to draw a mouth on Doodle. Throughout the year he is frustrated not to be able to join in, but when the next Christmas comes around, is especially sad not to be able to participate in the holiday fun. We even see him pick up a grinning Stitch toy in the mirror and hold it to his face--imagining what it would be like to have a mouth. Upon seeing this, Molly gets an idea from one of her Disney posters to write to Santa for a Mr Potato Head (from Toy Story). On Christmas morning, Doodle at long last is given the gift of a Mr potato head mouth and everything he's wanted to say the whole year comes out at once. We end the film with Molly and Doodle chatting the whole of christmas together, the best of friends.
